The Photovoltaic system at the Gardiner School is up and running as of about 3 pm today, Earth Day - April 22, 2009. By 4 PM the first kilowatt-hour had been produced, and used, by the school. Over the 25 year guaranteed life of the panels we expect close to 70 megawatts of power.
The project was kicked off by a grant written by Aubree Durfey back in the fall of 2007. Much effort by many good people made this all happen. Kudos to Aubree, the Greening Gardiner Committee, the Gardiner School and…

participate—even when I am bitterly disappointed. We did not succeed in moving HB 253 out of committee, but we learned a lot trying—and we’ll kept trying.
When I lived in Virginia, I felt powe…

Alltel Wireless has agreed move a proposed cell tower a site near Yellowstone National Park’s north entrance in Gardiner to a water tower north of town.
Alltel's willingness to work with Gardiner on this and come up with an alternative that was less intrusive was commendable. If you commented on the original plan it would be appropriate to followup with a thank you to them for listening.

Aubree Durfey, Gardiner High School alum and Jardine Ski Run volunteer and ribbon winner, helped put together an Earth Day project in Missoula that brought a glass pulverizer to town.

tons of glass in 5 hours.
The pulverizer turns glass into cullet - which is currently being used in a variety of areas, including in products that rely upon aggregate, like sidewalks and floors, and is also being use
